HANDMADE DIY SCENTED CANDLE

First, you get your materials (all of which you can get at your local craft supply store)- A bag of soy wax chips, a bottle of essential oil (I love lavender), some wick, metal bases, a chopstick or pencil, and a double boiler.
Melt your wax over low heat. I found that 1 cup of chips will give you about 3/4 cup liquid.

Thread your wick through the metal base and secure with enough extra length to wrap around the chopstick.

Add your fragrance.

Pour into your container and suspend wick in the middle.

They make a great gifts and are fun to make!Totally *GUILT FREE*

LOOK FOR LESS BLACK WEDGE BOOTIES

There's not much to say here. I bought these boots today and they are online right now for 13$.
I ADORE THEM.
They are comfy, vegan, and *guilt free*. Light as a feather and squeak free! Most importantly, they don't look as inexpensive as they are.
Do it.
 Love it.
You're welcome.

FALLING STAR

So, this outfit was inspired by the EPIC FALL I had last night. Yes, it was the kind that you see re-mixed on You Tube. Hopefully this huge scarf can act as a makeshift neck brace as I approach my 8 hour shift. Had know idea two posts in to "FOUR TIMES ELEVEN" I'd be feeling like "EIGHT TIMES ELEVEN".

DOUBLE DENIM

Somedays I look in the mirror and a conversation will unfold like this

me:"What should I wear today?"
my reflection: "You look great, don't change!"
me: "Are you sure I can still rock this? I'm WELL into my 4th decade."
my reflection: "Well...I DID see that in a SEVENTEEN magazine last week"
me: "Oh no, I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard. No, you know what? Who cares?! I'm wearing it!"
my reflection: "I don't think I like your tone..."

So now I'm going to document a few looks here and there that I either feel confident wearing at ALMOST (ugh) 44, or not so confident but wearing anyways. I'm calling it FOUR TIMES ELEVEN and I hope you enjoy. Here's a look I think can work for a lot of women. Denim on denim does not have to be as frightening as it was in the 80's. Just make sure you mix colors. Here I chose a traditional blue jean jacket with black skinnies.
PS The jacket is 20 yrs old, one bonus of getting older is vintage shopping in your closet:)

PEPLUM PROLOGUE

ZAC POSEN made this just for me.
Well, maybe not JUST for me, but when I look at this model, put on my darkest shades, squint my eyes and imagine her 40lbs heavier...It absolutely IS me.
I don't always love repeating trends (which everyone over 30 can relate to) but I am more into peplums now than I was when I dressed like the missing member of Prince and the Revolution.
Here is your "guilt free style" option.

GREEN NINJA PARTY *GUILT FREE STYLE*

You can fulfill your childs dreams  of a theme party without getting sucked into the merchandising vortex.  When my son returned from his buddies party a few weeks ago with a smile and a goody bag, I asked him if he had fun and he said "yeah-yaah". He left the party knowing that his friend loved the Regular Show, but not weighed down by all things "Mordecai and Rigby". I decided then, that just because my son is obsessed with all things Ninjago, doesn't mean I have to spend my entire check on things for his party. I took a page out of our friends book and simply nodded to the character of the moment... the GREEN NINJA.
All things green, all things DIY, all things dollar store.
DO IT. LOVE IT.

Dollar store gumball machines filled with Skittles.

Rice Krispy Sushi with swedish fish and fruit roll-ups.
My son doesn't do cake, so marshmallows and a little yellow and green food coloring...
The healthy choices were just as popular as the indulgent ones.
