ENCHANTING SITTING ROOM

                       

Still obsessed with black in the living space.

This space is as visually enchanting as Kim.

The only difference between the two is Kim made the wise choice to downplay her accessories making her embellished gold shoulders, decollatage and gorgeous face the focus. This sitting room is the perfect example of why black is one of my favorite colors. Contrary to what some believe it is wrapping the room in a chic comfort that only black has to offer. As opposed to making it dreary, it is the platfrom for all the other accessories to shine, especially that OTT gold candelabra! Without the black it may have been, dare I say, wack?

Leave it to ASOS to offer a "guilt free" option at  $82.48 $32.27.

I though this gold pendant light was a nice clean paired down interpretation at Overstock.com for $64.99.

When I saw this outfit on Kim, my mind immediately went to luxury bedding. Just like this literal bedding from the crazy talented russian artist Vadim Cherniy, this kind of look doesn't give it all away, but makes you want to wrap yourself around it and find out if it's real or synthetic.

Kim also decided to accent her curves with some silver statement earrings, and in true Kim style, her handbag probably takes the value of her outfit up and over the cost of this very luxurious chaise.

INKY QUIRKY SITTING ROOM

 How does she do it? 

 The same way the talented designer of this quaint moody living space has done it. Keep the color palette minimal and add tons of texture.  I am a huge fan of saturated color, but have recently renewed my love of basic black. I can't wait to dip into a can of dark charcoal paint for my new home.

WOMAN IN THE MIRROR

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GIRL? 

She's a true beauty. she loves her friends, her family, her life. 

She's an art lover and was looking for some kind of abstract portrait.

 So, I decided to paint her this way.

 You see, Fazillah (Fuzz) is always smiling and stylishly put together. Bright colors are a staple in her wardrobe, if you invite her out for cocktails expect a hush to fall over the room when she enters.

I wanted her to look at this portrait and feel like it's a true reflection of herself...pared down.

 No glitter, just soul.  

After all, any of us who have spent time with her know it's all about her stunning eyes.

WILD SPRING FLORAL BOUQUET

Aaaaaaahhhhhh, Spring. 

A time for new beginnings, and fresh flowers. Or for some of us, like Kim, a time for new photo ops and shopping at Hermes. While I may not be toting the signature orange bag around  anytime soon, you can certainly bet I will be carrying a huge bunch of wild flowers. I never quite understood the whole pageant culture, but I love holding a beautiful bouquet from the market to my home, all the way smiling as if I'd just taken first prize. Whether you decide to slip into a floral romper, or head down to your local market, you'll definitely feel that special feeling. Trust me.

Sometimes one focal point on an outfit, or in a room is enough.

MID CENTURY MODERN SITTING ROOM

A laid back vibe with a unique twist. 

The denim vest and denim throw cushions against the peacock blue bag and chairs are both equally unpredictable, yet somehow work. I also love how both the choice and placement of the wall art as well as Kim's choice of jewelery and accessories seem to be a random collection of things that are loved put on display for everyone to see.

It's nice not to have to think about it ALL the time.

 Sometimes a mere gathering of treasured items just works.
